International Transfer Students
International Transfer students are students who have completed university credit at another college/university and intend to complete their bachelor degree at North Park University. University credit can be transferred to North Park from community colleges (in the United States), universities outside of the United States, and in some instances, advanced secondary education programs.
If you have started taking university courses in the United States or at a university outside of the United States, you MUST disclose this to your admissions counselor. The admissions process requires that we have your entire academic record before completing your admissions process.

If transferring from a U.S. college/university, you must request an official transcript to be sent to North Park. North Park accepts official transcripts by Parchment, Clearing House, or other electronic transfer programs. You can also request an official transcript to be mailed to the address below:
North Park University
Office of International Admissions, Box 19
3225 W Foster Avenue
Chicago, IL 60625
Transcripts emailed by students will not be accepted.
If you are transferring from a foreign university, North Park will require a course-by-course transcript evaluation. North Park will accept evaluations from the following companies:
If you’ve ordered and evaluation from a company not listed above, please contact admissions@achador.net to verify whether your evaluation will be accepted.
If admitted while a semester is in progress, a final transcript must be submitted following the conclusion of that semester and an updated evaluation must be completed.
After receiving a course-by-course evaluation, North Park will conduct an internal evaluation determining which courses we will transfer in. This will be necessary to determine the duration of your time at North Park.
Academic recommendations are letters written and submitted by a current or former teacher attesting to your academic abilities within the classroom. Please use the online application to submit a recommendation request. All you need to do is submit the email address of a recommender of your choice and North Park will send them an inquiry on your behalf.
North Park does not offer an English as second language program (ESL) and we require international students to submit proof of English proficiency. Our testing requirements are as follows:
TOEFL iBT: 80 (lesser scores may be considered based on individual subject scores)
IELTS: 6.0 (lesser scores may be considered based on individual subject scores)
Cambridge English Assessment: B2
Oxford ELLT: 7 (Use promo code ‘NPU10‘ to receive a discounted price on test)
If transferring from a college/university in the United States, you may qualify for a TOEFL/IELTS waiver if you meet the following criteria:
- You have earned at least 60 credit hours of transferable university credit.
- You have completed Composition 101 & 102 or ENG 101 & 102 (or equivalent courses at your school)
This will be decided after receiving your official transcript.
International students studying in the United States will require visa sponsorship. Students will be required a Form I-20 in order to apply for the F-1 (nonimmigrant visa) student visa. Before North Park can sponsor your Form I-20, the student must be admitted to the university and have submitted the following documents:
- Copy of passport identification page (please scan and email to medrake@achador.net)
- Bank statement (bank statements must show a minimum of 6 months of deposits and be in the name of the individual taking responsibility for your payments)
- Financial affidavit of support
If you are transferring to North Park from a college/university in the United States and have a valid Form I-20, North Park and your current school will collaborate to transfer your existing SEVIS record to North Park, allowing you to maintain your accrued benefits.
After North Park has received your university transcripts or your course-by-course evaluation, we will do an in house evaluation of your credit. Once complete, you will receive a transfer evaluation from your recruiter. For help understanding your credit evaluation, please click the button below:
